Hello
my dears!
I
am coming back to you with a huge portion of energy and inspiration from an
amazing holiday at Cote d’Azur. Following that there will be a serious amount of
pictures coming up! In the following posts I will try my best to show you a
true beauty of that unique piece of the world.
As
a mode of transport we have chosen a car. Giving up the opportunity to reach
the destination instantly we gained a possibility of travelling all around the
coast actually with no limits. Hotel has been also chosen very strategically :
city Antibes – in the heart of Rivera but still offering affordable prices, in
comparison to the famous curorts nearby. Cannes 15 km, Nice 15 km, Monaco 30
km. The distances are actually even possible to make by bus!
Antibes
itself is also very nice. Not far from each other there are both the sand and
stone beach, so you can choose whatever you prefer :) On the evenings the city
is full of life. You can both eat good, and drink well. The streets are very
narrow, actually like in whole france but here it was particularly visible.
There’s also Marineland. I’ve never been a fan of watching animals “in jail”
especially when they present leared tricks to the audience. However I started
to believe in the success of this place after watching some videos of how the
animals are being taken care of there, that they have their home environment
ensured and also that they procreate in there! Especially the last one made me
believe that they feel well in there, and Marineland is a nice entertainment
not only for the young but also older members of the family. Marineland is
actually only a part of a huge entertainment complex which incorporates also
zoo, minigolf, aqualand and adventure park. There is therefore a huge variety
of spending your free time and if you book your tickets online they are
cheaper. About all that concearns Marineland I will soon organize a separate
post.
Today
we will start with Cannes. There is a reason why I have chosen such beginning.
Among all of the luxurious places that I was able to see during my lifetime
Cannes with no doubt amazes me the most. Or let’s put it this way: if I could
afford it this is I guess the place where I would spent my entire holiday :) I
just see it as properly arranged. The pier is situated on the side and the “life”
revolves around the beach. I don’t know why but I just don’t feel it when it is
the other way around..So starting from the beach there are sequentially:
promenade, beautiful green, the first street along which one can find the
stores of the most luxurious brands in this world. Further the next parallel
street, which is let’s say accessible by the middle class :). In addition to
that in the xxx streets you can eat something. Sounds like a perfect city plan
to me. Let’s also not forget about the Palace of Festivals and a must-have of a
visit in Cannes – a picture on the red carpet!
We
have spent the evening on the beach watching a firework display. And no, not
some-any-other firework shooting. A real pirotechnique show like it is meant to
be. Whenever you go to Cannes during the summer I highly encourage you to check
when those displays are taking place. It is a really memorable experience
and...completely for free!
